A glossy black-furred she-cat sat on a fence that her clan had been named for, her eyes cold as ice, paws soft as velvet. A deadly contrast. She blinked her eyes shut and then reopened them to take in her camp. Ivyclaw sat down, and then looked up at her superior.
"G'morning. What pleasure does your clan have to see you?" She mewed, flicking her tail from side to side.
Juniperstar looked down and flashed a smile, grinning with her bright white teeth.
"Is it wrong for a leader to love her clan?" The shadow-coloured leader purred, looking down at her older sister. Ivyclaw chuckled and threw a mouse toward Juniperstar, the latter catching it and then throwing it back.
"I just ate, don't bother yourself."
Ivyclaw shook her head.
"You know that prey is running short I guess. Shall I take it to the elders?" The grey she-cat peered up at her leader, taking a deep huff of air. Juniper flicked her tail and shook her head.
"The nursery. The elders will just die out anyway." She hissed, face turned sour.
The ashy grey warrior was taken aback by this remark.
"One of those elders is your own mother!" Ivy said in disbelief, her fur raised. What was Juniper thinking? With a hiss, she lowered her ears and crept forward, paws making soft indentations in the ground.
Juniperstar frowned, watching with surprise as her lower-clbutt-man leapt up toward her, almost barrelling her off the fence. Ivyclaw hissed and swung her claws around at the glossy black she-cat, tearing into Juniper's flank.
"You have never cared for those truly in need! You're just a lousy fake! You don't care about those who have paid their time doing real hard work and labour, unlike you, you who were raised in a special spot with no hardships! You even got me to mentor the apprentice you needed to mentor to become deputy! You are nothing but a FAKE!" The grey warrior screeched, letting her rage come out. For many moons she had discovered more about the black she-cat, let the anger begin to grow.
Letting it grow into a traitorous heart.
